Ever wondered what would happen if there was no glass Windshield in your automobile? How would it get protected? The answer is simple, it would not. Windshields generally are the safeguards when it comes to vehicles. These are well known as the wide glass front window of a vehicle such as a bus, truck, or car. Nobody likes to travel in an open vehicle when the weather is too bad, right? Auto glass Columbus windshield prevents that from happening in a bad weather condition.

How Is The Windshield Made?
Windshields were made of hard kind of glasses that are also called tempered glass, it is created by the special treatment of heat which makes the glass even more resistant and harder, efficient and it also prevents minor shattering. The auto glass Columbus windshields which are laminated and multi-layered are the ones that are preferred the most. Many of the countries have switched to the manufacturing of windshield that comprises of glass that is laminated.

Elements Of The Glass Windshield
You might have noticed this that the windshield and the glass in the windows are quite different from each other. This is because it is made with a special type of glass. This glass is made from soda ash, silica sand, cullet, dolomite, and limestone.

Sometimes the formula contains little potions of aluminum oxide and potassium oxide. You might have already guessed that silica is considered as a major component, engulfing 60 to 70% from the lot.

The soda ash used in the creation of the windshield helps in the reduction of the mix’s melting point, dolomite makes the solution more flexible and convenient for working. The durability of the product is maintained by the use of limestone. Once the solution is heated up to a certain temperature after mixing with water and the solution turns up to make the glass that we require.

Creation of the Windshield
After they have finished making the glass the mixture goes through a certain float chamber which is a kind of a section made of a slip sheet made of tin. It is here where the floating of glass occurs. The glass then goes into another chamber which makes the glass capable of annealing. The completion of annealing marks he stat of the formation and preparation of the glass for the creation of windshield.

The prepared glass is then kept on a cast which is kept warm so that the glass becomes soft and it is done so that the glass takes the shape of the mold. The glass after being molded into the desired shape can be hardened by using cool air. This procedure is responsible for the tempering of the glass and it makes it hard and durable.

The lamination takes place when two of the tempered glasses are placed  on two distinct sides respectively of the sheet of polyvinyl butyral. A machine heats the components as rollers are present there to press them in between. This process makes the glass transparent and it fuses the three layers of glass together for forming a single glass which is laminated and is a safe glass.
